Esther House

iThemba Homes
Hillcrest South Africa

A new Focus on iThemba foster care home, located in a secure housing estate in the first world Hillcrest community. A sanctuary for six vulnerable and orphaned children.

A home that is headed by a loving mother and father who provide a warm family life. A carefully selected married couple who will give these special children the grounding and opportunities they desperately need and so desire. A home that offers the very best family environment possible, coupled with excellent education. A unique foster home that is rooted in stability and renewal.

So many children are still being affected by the awful stigma of HIV/AIDS. It is compromising their safety and contributing to their vulnerability of being abused and neglected. Many of these children have nowhere to go as the community turns it back on them because of this ongoing stigma. Through your generous donation we will be able to rescue six vulnerable children who are stuck in the downward spiral of poverty and sustain a home.

“When I was young, death was not spoken of daily - today four or more people are buried daily. People who are buried are mostly parents who leave behind children, more in number and more in suffering.”
Ma Makwea, Limpopo Province, South Africa

The reality is startling; can we act together today to turn the tide on the situation in these impoverished communities? With your help we can sustain a warm, deserving home where these children can thrive. We have seen our iThembaKids respond so well to new family routines, celebrations, family rituals and strong belief systems, slowly understanding that this is their home and it is where they belong.

An iThemba home is more than just bricks and mortar it represents the gift of hope and great opportunity.
